NEW YORK -- U.S. stocks rose Wednesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average at a new all-time high, after encouraging data showing the economy growing at a steady pace, with inflation in check, but General Motors Corp. turned lower on a news report it has failed to reach agreement on an alliance with car makers Renault and Nissan Motor Co.
The Dow industrials rose as much 59 points to strike a fresh all-time high of 11,786. It was last up 47 points at 11,764.
The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 22 points at 2,266, while the S&P 500 Index gained 6 points a 1,339.
Biotech sector is also up 0.60% as well. The market is JUMPING!
